Special Plan

For Tier 2 or Tier 3 Correction members of the rank of Captain or above who wish to participate in the Correction Captains 20-Year Retirement Plan (CC-20). In order to participate in this plan, you must be a Correction member of the rank of Captain or above in active service at the time of filing. 

For Tier 1 or Tier 2 members in active City service who are enrolled in the Career Pension Plan (CPP) or the 55-Year Increase-Service-Fraction Plan (ISF) and wish to change from one plan to another.

This brochure describes the benefits of the Fire Protection Inspector 25-Year Plan (FPI-25 Plan). The FPI-25 Plan is available ONLY to FPI Members. An FPI Member is a NYCERS member employed by the City of New York or the New York City Fire Department in a title whose duties are those of an FPI, Associate FPI, or a supervisor of those employees.

The 911 Communications Operators/25 Year Plan is available ONLY to members employed by the New York City Police Department as police communications technicians, supervising police communications technicians, or principal police communications technicians. Collectively these titles define a Police Communications Member.

This brochure describes the benefits of the Automotive Member 25-Year and Age 50 Retirement Plan (AUT 25/50 Plan). The AUT 25/50 Plan is available ONLY to members employed in a series of titles performing automotive service work (Automotive Member Titles [AMTs]).

This brochure describes the benefits of the Correction Force Member 20-Year Retirement Plan (CF-20 Plan). The CF-20 Plan is available ONLY to NYCERS members employed by the NYC Department of Correction in a series of Correction Force Titles (CFTs).

This brochure describes the benefits of the 20-Year Retirement Plan for Correction Officers of the rank of Captain or above (CC-20 Plan). The CC-20 Plan is available ONLY to NYCERS members of the rank of Captain or above who became employed by the NYC Department of Correction in a Correction Officer Title (COT) for the first time prior to October 19, 2004.

This brochure describes the benefits of the D.A. Investigators 20 Year Plan. It is available ONLY to members employed as Investigators by District Attorney’s offices; current District Attorney investigators (those investigators that did not elect to participate in the existing 25- Year DA Investigator Plan); any Participant in the 25IDA Plan and any NYCERS member hired as a District Attorney investigator after November 16, 2004 but prior to April 1, 2012.

This brochure describes the benefits of the D.A. Investigators 25-Year Plan which is available ONLY to members employed in District Attorney’s Offices and joined NYCERS in an Investigator title between July 1, 1973 and March 31, 2012.

This brochure describes the benefits of the Deputy Sheriff 25-Year Plan (DSH-25 Plan). The DSH-25 Plan is available ONLY to members employed by the City of New York as Deputy Sheriff level one, Deputy City Sheriff level two, Supervising Deputy Sheriff, or Administrative Sheriff.

This brochure describes the obligations and benefits of the Dispatcher 25-Year Retirement Plan for Tier 6 members (6DI-25). This plan allows participants to retire with 25 years of Allowable Service regardless of age and is available only to Dispatcher Members. A Dispatcher Member is a NYCERS member employed by the City of New York in the titles of Fire Alarm Dispatcher, Supervising Fire Alarm Dispatcher Levels 1 and 2, Director of Dispatch Operations, and Deputy Director of Dispatch Operations.

This brochure describes the obligations and benefits of the Emergency Medical Technician 25-Year Plan (EMT-25 Plan). This plan allows participants to retire after rendering at least 25 years of Allowable Service, regardless of age. The EMT-25 Plan is available ONLY to EMT Members. An EMT Member is a NYCERS member employed by the City of New York or the New York City Health and Hospitals Corporation in a title whose duties are those of an EMT, Advanced Emergency Medical Technician (AEMT), or a supervisor of those employees.

This brochure describes the benefits of the Sanitation 20-Year Retirement Plan (SA-20) which is available ONLY to employees in the uniformed-force of the NYC Department of Sanitation. 

This brochure describes the benefits of the Special Peace Officer 25-Year Retirement Plan for Tier 6 members (6SO-25). The 6SO-25 Plan allows participants to retire after 25 years of Allowable Service without regard to age and is available ONLY to members employed in a series of Special Peace Officer (SPO) titles.

This brochure outlines the benefits of the Transit 25-Year/Age 55 Retirement Plan (T25/55 Plan). The T25/55 Plan is available only to those employed in a Transit Operating Force (TOF) position.

This brochure describes the obligations and benefits of the Triborough Bridge and Tunnel Authority (TBTA) 20-Year Retirement Plan for Tier 6 members (6TB-20). This plan allows participants to retire with 20 years of Credited Service (all service). The 6TB-20 plan is available ONLY to those employed in a TBTA Eligible Position.

This brochure describes the obligations and benefits of the Uniformed Correction Force 22-Year Plan (CF-22). This plan allows participants to retire for service after rendering at least 22 years of Credited Service, regardless of age.
